Humble meetings

" You by all means were far from rude, I am just a stranger that was invited into your home. You have a point." Arch asseses how he hiself has been acting and how he has been skirting a lot of questions. "Im sorry if I have been rude my friend, in all honesty I am quite the recluse so my social skills are lacking.
Its been a few hundred years since I have gone out of my way to meet someone for purely sociality reasons."
Looking at Yasuo and Rai he looks down. " To be honest I dont remember the exact date I was born but to be frank, I was born somehwere around 1100 A.D.. Due to my lifestlyes around that age I can tell you by first glance, I already knew what you both are, nor am I afraid of it. For I have seen much worse, let alone the hospitality you have shown me has done nothing but instill in me that you both have an outstanding character." Arch looks up in a cold gance deeply into Yasuos eyes. "I could tell you both have had quite the journey, and in me you have found an ally. All will be known in time, but for now lets just enjoy the company."
A brief silent insued amongst the men as they sat quietly, smoking and sipping there beverages. Letting the tenshion leave the air. " Yes Rai, I did in fact meen Killem. Im rather supprised you knew him, have you met before?"

"And what was your lifestyle? I suppose the collar gives part of that away..." Yasuo asks, curious now. Standing, he begins taking care of the pipe and putting it away, as well as clearing the table and other dishes. He seems a bit more relaxed since Arch's acknowledgement, glancing at him over his shoulder as he cleans. "If you don't mind me asking... You seem human to us but something is off. Why is that?"

Appearing as though he is about to answer, Rai opens his mouth to say something in the lull of conversation but is interrupted by his stomach growling quite loudly. His eyes widen, startled, and then immediately a deep blush creeps up his neck and to his face. The tension in the room breaks even further as Yasuo begins laughing, shoulders shaking as he tries to hold some of it back. Sinking into his chair, thoroughly embarrassed now, Rai glares at Yasuo's back.

" It was a very diffrent time then. I found myelf as a young csptain for what is now known as the grand crusades, I was brought up to be a specialist in my time. A cornerstone to the very fabric of the cause. The battles with humans and demons a like honed me. As for the reasons I am here now were directly a cuse from it. Yes I am human, but by the end of that era. I all but lost my humanity. Details and the rest will come in time, if you dont mind. I always feel overdramatic when I speak of it." As Arch finnishes, a gasto intestinal function from Rai seems to break the air of the converstation. Slightly chuckleing to the chagrin of Rai's embarrasment Arch cant help but peep in. "Water must have been a bad age?" Chuckling slightly Arch ads. "If you are hungry my boi by all means if u have the means go ahead, I can take my leave and give u a bit of respite."

Rai covers his face with a hand as Arch chuckles at him as well, shoulders shrugging in a sigh. "G-gomen..." He practically whispers, obviously still mortified.

Coming back to take his seat again, Yasuo is calm once more. "So, if you know what we are, please elaborate. I would like to hear it in your own words... No need to go into further detail about your past. I understand. That is a better answer than before. Thank you for your understanding." His turn to reach toward Rai, he pulls the man's hand away from his face and tuts very softly in Japanese to him before continuing. "No need to leave until you are ready, Jourdine-san. Raiden should be fine for a bit. We don't get humans around too often is all."

" You know as well as I the subtle differences wihtin human and angel alike. I tend to over analize people and even I know it can be rather rude. But seeming how I apparently have your permission. The traits I picked up upon that hinted something was off, when I first met you was your physice. Sligtly elongated limbs, coloration of hair and of skin. Even how you carry yourself Dr. Gives yourself away. It wasnt till a few moments ago I could decern that you were half human half emotion class demon." Leaning in and smileing with a slightly crazed look in his eyes he wispers. "Fear... able to manipulate yourself to suit the situation, protection at is core is always driven by fear.
"As for Rai, I would rather not make him uneasey if I can advert it, wouldnt you agree." Leaning back into his seat. "I dont see the need." I do hope I have not been off putting? A look like he has said too much and let himself down crosses his face. " just the thing you want to do old man to gain there trust.... I alwas do this..." He thinks to himself.
Just as Arch leans back a bellow of wind slams against the door and windows of the house rythmaticly, ending as abrupty as it started with a tremor that shakes the whole of the house. "Ah! He's finally here!"

Listening intently, Yasuo's face remains placid until Arch begins to look crazed. Surprisingly, his expression softens to one extremely gentle and he leans toward him briefly, brushing a bit of hair out of the older man's face with the tips of his fingers. "There you are," He murmurs softly once he is finished, pulling away. "I see you." Smiling towards him, friendly again, he bows his head apologetically. "Gomenasai. I didn't mean to pull that out of you. I am just trying to get to the truth. If you forgive me, I just want to be sure you aren't merely just interested in us because of what we are. We are men, not unlike you, first and foremost. We may just be a little odd but we try to live our lives as normally as possible given the circumstances. Please remember that.... Also, you may call me Yasuo."

Yasuo doesn't react at all to the shifting of the wind nor their house, not easily startled in the slightest. Rai, however, flinches badly, eyes squeezed shut until it's over. He quickly catches himself when Arch announces the arrival of their new guest, standing from his seat and actually appearing excited. He quickly disappears from the room, not waiting for the other two.

Chuckling again, Yasuo stands, pushing in his chair and approaching Arch. "Shall we?" He says, amused while offering the other doctor a hand to get to his feet.

Arch just stars at Yasuo ash he touches his hair, a look of blank questioning across his face. He says nothing but blinks a few times in rapid sucsession.
"Yasuo it is then Dr." He looks to Rai as he seems more excited then any other moment previously, he smiles and is glad the tension is gone. He gathers his things and nods to Yasuo as they head out the door to catch up to Rai.
As they exit the cottage Arch notices his old friend sitting on the ground leaning against his car, one leg streight out and other tucked in. His arms ar crossed on his chest and his head is laying back on the roof of the vehicle as its slowly sliding away from under him. The man has a messy mane of sholder length fire engine red hair going to an equily red beard. Crimson tattos adorn his face streight lines from cheekbone to brow over both eyes. His clothing are a mass of golden fur lined black plate slabs arranged in a rough plate vest on his upper torso and his pants are thick dark tanned leather slacks with simmilar plates on the thighs and hips and shins. His boots are made of a dark fur that have been lashed to his legs with thick chord. At first glance the mans skin seems to have an almost golden tint to it.

"He's sweet, isn't he?" Yasuo murmurs to Arch when Rai is out of earshot and they are on their way out. An affectionate look is in his eyes as he looks to the direction his younger brother disappeared to, his smile warm. Stepping outside, Raiden isn't there quite yet so Yasuo approaches, giving a friendly wave to the newcomer.

"Konichiwa, Killem-san!" He calls pleasantly, bowing politely and peering up with another pleasant smile when he finally stands in front of the Giant. "It's good to finally see you... I mean that."

Raiden trails out behind them after a minute, carrying a rather large canvas. It seems he got into the paints or charcoal at the same time, smudges of both on his face. He also forgot to roll the sleeves down to his hoodie again in his search, his arms the same ashy pale color as the rest of him but covered in scars bordering on grotesque. The same rope-like scar peeking out from around his neck can be seen on wrists, most are old and vary in size, depth, and color though there are a few that appear to be self inflicted. A testament to how bad they are, there are even chunks and gouges of flesh missing from a few spots that obviously could have used a skin graft to fix that they never received. Rai hovers behind the two other men, mainly Yasuo, nervous and shy but with still an air of excitement.

"Yes, he has a air of innocence about him that is charming. Its nice to see considering what he must have been through."
Killem opens one emerald eye, unmoving peering at the man greeting him. He sits there for a second as the two men approach slowly. After a few moments the man lumbers and stands up as Rai emerges through the front door to meet them.
In an extremly thick scottish accent killem gesturs and points a finger at Arch, " You get any slower deaths gonna finnaly catch you u ol shite." Arch rolles his eyes at the giant and huffs at him. " All good things come in time killem, and nice to see you again too. Arch stops short a few paces away from the now standing giant. " And its finally about time Ive got to meet the bois" as he gives a gental pat to Yasuo and Rais shoulders. Fiannly ending up with his hand over Arch. Arch looking up at him picks up his cane and braces himself with a smile on his face. Killem picks up arch and places him on his left shoulder. " There that will help you get aroun new eh?" Chuckleing Arch replies "yes just like old times!"
"Lastly, what have we here?" Squatting down to meet Rai, Ive not see a smile like that in a while , ant u full of beamin glory?! Excitedly he holds out his hand.

Yasuo pats Killem's hand and grins before he pulls away, allowing him to speak to Rai without interruption from him.

Rai, however, full on flinches at the pat, so much so he takes a step back and ducks his head a bit as if Killem is going to strike him. He gives a very nervous smile toward the giant, recovering from the start slowly as he literally speaks down to him. He bows toward him, holding the canvas above his head in offering with trembling hands. "K-k-konichiwa... It's g-good to s-see you... I-I..." He takes a deep, shaking breath before continuing, trying to calm his nerves. "I m-made you this. I h-hope... you like i-it?" It is an oil painting of relatively average skill depicting a storm from a spot in the very forest they are standing in. The gray clouds broken up with blue colored streaks of lightning over autumn trees.

Taking the painting, Killem examines the gift in his palm. He stares at it intently and silently for a moment. "Storms and forests, remind me of my home, an easier era. It is great, thank you!" Killem looks t'ward Arch with a nod and shows arch the painting. "You will have to excuse me Rai, but would you mind if I give this to Arch to hold on to for me? I dont have pockets... or a house for that matter. Id hate to ruin it."
"So whats the plan, what types of trouble can we get in!"

Raiden looks up again, his face a tomato colored red. He smiles, still shy but doesn't seem to mind as he gives a small nod to Arch hanging onto it. As soon as his smile appears, it quickly fades, the color draining slowly from his face and his expression going blank. Mismatched colored eyes are trained on Killem but looking through him rather than at him. The stare only lasts a minute or so and he blinks and smiles once more afterward before averting his gaze again. "Wh-where are you from?" It's at this moment he finally realizes his sleeves are rolled up and he shifts uncomfortably, pulling them back down to hide his scars.

Yasuo at his side continues to grin up at the giant, waiting for Rai to finish speaking "What kind of things are you interested in, Killem-san? We don't get out much. I have to say domestic life has made us a bit soft.I am not sure what you would like to do."

" Everything alright Rai?" Arch asks tenderly from Killems shoulder. " You seemed to have blank out for a second." After everything has settled Killem stands up from his crouched position and looks around. "I suppose we can take a walk now if you want? I'm not terribly exciting." Looking down at the couple looking up at him. "You mind if I carry you two as well, just makes it easier and I don't wanna tucker you two out already." "Why not tell us a little more about yourselves" Arch exclaims. " You know while were on our way." "They have children Killem so we cannot go too far." "HA! Children of course! Children are nice, tons of fun!"

The half breed man seems confused by what Arch means, staring up at him on Killem's shoulder with a puzzled look. He tilts his head quizzically but doesn't say anything, looking to Yasuo next for an answer.

Hearing this, Yasuo's expression becomes somewhat concerned and he turns to Rai as well, becoming focused on him for the moment. He says something gently to him in Japanese and then asks him a question, moving closer and brushing Rai's hair out of his face. Rai does, in fact, answer him also in their native language without stuttering or stammering (surprisingly.) His deep voice is clear and concise for once but still soft though there is a note of shame to his tone. Placing a reassuring kiss on Rai's temple before pulling away, he smiles up at Killem and Arch once more.

"He's fine. This is just something that happens. Not much can be done." His smile widens at the mention of their children. "A walk sounds nice! Raiden knows the forest well, he can show you around. Best to stay closer by, yes. I do have to pick up the children soon." Though he says this, he gestures to Raiden with his eyes as if to say something to the both of them subtly before continuing. "Oh? Do you not believe Raiden and I could keep up?"

"G-gomenasai... I-I don't m-mean to a be burden..." Raiden murmurs, staring at the ground.

" Well if its a lil tessie your lookin fer we have plunty of time later but fer reight new I think id be at a we disadvantage, being it a new place to me and all isnt it." Killem says with a smirk reaching down a hand to Rai to see if he wants a boost up. " Besides, I still wanna geet to know yee two bois a mite bettar farst." " Probable best course of action would be to stick close to the road anyway killem, we can be within the tree line if u wish, but I would love to meet the little ones as they arrive." Killem bellows out a hearty laugh at Arch turning his head slightly to look at the man on his shoulder. " Oi thatd be a sight fer the wee ones wouldnt et, you trying to make me out to be a pack mule again?!" "Gods no... Well not this time anywho." Arch says back to killem as he elbows him in his neck. " Well I dun see the harm in et, as long as their fathars dun pay no mind." Killem looks eargarly to Yasuo for a hopeful confirmation.

As Rai hesitantly creeps toward Killem's hand, his fingertips are met with a static shock that even he can feel. With a frown that says this happens frequently, Raiden appears extremely apologetic while chewing his lower lip. "A-are you sure?" He asks tentatively, reaching out a hand towards Killem's own slowly and cautiously but does ultimately take the boost up.

"That's a shame." Yasuo states, sounding only a small bit disappointed. "I thought you wanted a bit of trouble. What do they say? Let our hair down a bit? But that's no problem, however." His smile remains mild but there is a mischievous glint growing in his eyes. "I don't see why you can't meet the children if you'd like. I will warn you though, the three little ones don't know any English as of yet. They're young enough they can barely speak Japanese sometimes! And Ai-chan is still young enough she only knows a few simple words so I just hope you're not disappointed." As he speaks, he begins to stretch backward lazily, leaning in an odd manner that someone only hyper mobile could manage. His back gives a sickening popping sound before he straightens and is gone in the next second as if he has disappeared entirely. A lone breeze rustles the leaves on a tree to the side of the giant, a branch on the upper portion cracking and creaking for no apparent reason. As the branch makes its sound, Killem feels a heavy weight on his free shoulder as Yasuo just as suddenly appears there with another one of his handsome grins.

Making himself comfortable, he points to the west of his and Rai's home. "If you go that way there is a pond. That would be fine if you like. The trail is just a small path so Killem-san will have to make his own way. We don't really mind.... Then you will have to tell me what it is you really would like to know about us. As I was telling Jourdine-san, we aren't very interesting."

The trail he speaks of is, indeed, a small deer path weaving between the solid oaks and pines. A cicada gives a loud call, breaking through the melody of the birds chirping as they begin their walk. The occasional leaf swirls down, falling from their branch as a pleasant breeze wafts through, a few littering their path. The deeper they go into the forest, a strange scene is spotted out from the side of the trail. Not unlike a battlefield there are scorch marks marring the ground in random places, old trees charred and cracked down their centers with chunks of wood hurled every which way. Other trees are fallen over, less so by themselves and more uprooted by something large. A few even have been cut clean in half, the two halves sitting side by side and forgotten and others barely hanging on with hew marks bitten deep into the bark in messy strokes.

Killem makes little to no reaction to the static electricity that Rai emitted but still consoles him. " eh it happens no use fretting about et." Killem and Arch look at one another happily once Rai is nestled in, they bouth look at Yasuo as he stretches. Arch lets a gleeful chuckle and a little clap on his knee to the sound of his bones popping. " That sounded fan tastic, I wish I had that much range of motion or anywhere near it." Arch goes streight faced as he disappears breifly and nearly falls from the giants shoulder when Yasuo reappears. Peeking innocently like a eager kid hiding from the other side of killems neck. Reaching to support his old frined.
"Trust me if its a lil friendly compatiton yer lookin fer id be gald to in time." Killem chuckles to Yasuo, "what type you lookin to do? Foot race apparently? Any othar? Maby we can get ol bones to join us to fer laughs!" he exclaims while poking Arch in the belly like the Pillsbury doughboy. Arch taking the prodding pushes killems finger away with a huff " If i remember right back in my day I used to be able to give u a little mite of competition you blowhard. "Anyway, would it be eaiser if we met the children another time gentleman, I belive killem miss understood their ages, im shure we wouldnt want to upset the little ones, especially if they are unable to comunicate whats going on."
Killem slowly making his way through the forest as to not disturb any flora, seems to be getting a bit serious." "So im from near a place called Eilean Leòdhas, or the isle of Lewis in scottland. Its a place of old, where manny legends sleep long fergotten."
The group coming up to the broken treeline, killem stops to take in what may have transgressed here. "Place fer lettin off some steam when the kids get a wee much bois?" Looking up more tward Rai

The man feels odd as he is picked up, a fuzzy almost pulsing sensation of energy or a current running through him from top to bottom. Scrunching his eyes shut at the initial lift, he looks to Killem still uncertain and again blushing. It doesn't seem as though either of the men need to hold onto anything, Yasuo especially, both having amazing balance. Silent for the moment, Rai peers up at the sky and studies the clouds closely.

Yasuo, on the other hand is hot to the touch, hotter than the average person but not painfully so. The scent of his cologne pleasantly drifts toward Killem and Arch as Killem picks his ways through the trees. "That wasn't nearly as flexible as I can manage, Jourdine-san," He laughs, a wicked smirk forming on his lips. "...just ask Raiden." As the words leave his mouth, a spark of something blue bends out and hits him directly in the arm with a snap. Yasuo jolts in surprise but doesn't make much noise, nearly sliding off Killem's shoulder and wincing as Rai looks down at his brother with a sour expression. When he recovers he just chuckles, rubbing the spot the electricity touched before speaking again. "A foot race is better suited for me but it isn't necessary Killem-san. I was only trying to have a little fun. It is nice to have people we don't have to hide ourselves from. As for the children, I am sure it may be fine but I will leave it up to you both."

Peering down as the giant grows serious, Rai blinks curiously and pipes up, "...A-are you a l-legend, Killem-san? Wh-what do they call you?"

"I believe he means what kind of race are you? We have never seen anyone quite taller than me." Yasuo clarifies quietly, turning to look at the torn and shredded trees to their side just as Killem is. "...The children are no problem, but you are not wrong it is a way to left off steam as you say." He simply shrugs, Raiden looking to the spot as well but saying nothing.

The pond isn't much farther from the scene of fallen trees, a small thing not fit for much more than a short bridge and a few frogs and koi. The placid surface is broken only by the occasional lily pad dotted here and there, frogs croaking and crickets chirping away in an idyllic ambiance.

"Well maby Rai and you will have to show me how flexible you are one of these days." Arch pipes up wanting to join in with the jesting.
A little later as the men are stareing at the field, Killem shifts his weight from one foot to the other. " Its necessity to be able to be yourselves, at least once in a while. No need to hide it from us, go ahead and be comfortable in whichever u choose, pay us no mind. Aie Rai I waz a legend once, long ago... But legends need to be lived by their people to tell them. After a while they no longer are legends anymore. As for race, imma big one! He exclaims with a barrel of a laugh. Maby one day ill tell u bois... Hell, arch dun even know what i am afteh all these years. Maby it be you to get it outta meh?" He saiys with a grin and a wink tward the two men. Once the men arrive at the pond, killem tenderly lets the guys down. "So what is it you bouth do out here to relax anywho?" " Well what do you expect killem?" Arch replies quaintly. "Probibly sit and watch the fish and wildlife of course." Killem chuckleing makes a hand guestrue over his head to Yasuo and Rai when Arch is preocupied in his studies.

Yasuo just laughs again as Arch pipes up, answering him seriously, "I suppose I am glad you seem interested in it, Jourdine-san. I am not particularly proud of any of it. Maybe I will have to show you some time if you'd really like. It isn't anything special."

Answering Killem next, he lets out a small sigh, "We have lived our lives mainly as you see us right now. I am more comfortable as I am, if I am to be honest... I am not particularly... pleasant appearing otherwise. And it may be unwise for Raiden with Jourdine-san present. Just to be on the side of caution, ne?" Raiden peeks down at Arch as he is mentioned with a sheepish expression, both eyes burning blood red before he glances shyly away.

Once at the pond and placed down, the two smile up at Killem. "Arigato!" Yasuo exclaims, giving a small bow toward the giant for the ride. "I am sorry this spot might not be very exciting but it is one of our favorites."

They both pause thoughtfully as they are asked what they do for fun in the forest, Rai actually speaking first and nodding along with Arch, "I-I like animals... And w-w-watching the sky." As if on cue, a brown shape buzzes loudly toward the halfbreed, landing on his head and tangling in his hair. He goes still, eyes lifting to look slowly and questioningly as he plucks it gently from where it's trapped. It's a large rhinoceros beetle, turning around in the man's palm with confusion. Raiden smiles at it, larger and more genuine than he has yet, and holds the insect up toward Killem so he can get a better look.

"Well as you said we do let off steam... In multiple ways." States Yasuo, giving his brother a side long glance and leaning forward to whisper something to him. Raiden's expression turns incredulous, a blush rising deeper and deeper and causing his new friend to fly off with a quick flutter. "Aniki!" He says clearly and sharply, an unappreciated elbow lashing out at Yasuo that the blond deftly blocks as if he was expecting it. Grumbling, Rai moves away to stand nearer to Arch.

Shaking his head while chuckling, Yasuo looks back up toward Killem, "In seriousness it is probably just what you are thinking at that clearing. However, Raiden enjoys being out here, gardening, drawing, watching animals, watching storms... I read and sit with him. We watch the children play. Honestly, I work a lot and I don't have time for too much out here myself."

Killem inspecting the tiny rinocerous beetle smiles back at Rai " All animals are nice, I frequent the forests of my home too, though there are a lot of feilds too. Onna diffrent note, I would realy like to meet the kids one day, be in honesty Ishould probi leh git goin. I dun wanna scare the lil buggars. Besides, im cauzing more of a commotion then I should right new betewen you two he chuckles. " it was nice meeting you two finaly, but imma head back home, I will see everyone shortly I promise!" At that killem turns from the group and heads off tward the field they looked at previously.
"He does that, you have to excuse him. Not much manners that one, I fear hes from a time before they existed." Arch stands as he walks away with an agitated look on his face. After a few moments Arch turns tward Rai that had just gotten closer to him to excape his lover and the giants prodding and whispers, you will have to excuse me Rai, but what does aniki mean?"

Rai looks disappointed, shoulders drooping just a tad at Killem's goodbye. "Sayonara, K-Killem-san..." He says to him quietly before the giant turns to leave.

"Mata ne~! See you again!" Yasuo calls, waving pleasantly and giving a nod. "It was nice to meet you, too. You are welcome to come back, Killem-san." After he is gone, Yasuo looks to Arch next as he stands. "It's quite all right. It is getting late... Speaking of, when do you fly out again, Jourdine-san? We have a guest room if you think you would rather stay..."

Seeming to have spaced out blankly again between the time Killem walked away and Arch's question, Raiden shakes his head a bit and comes to. He takes a moment to process he is being spoken to, responding in less of a whisper. "Older brother..."

Looking up from searching his pockets for a cigarette again, said older brother frowns, "I heard that!" Mock harrumphing as he lights his smoke with a pause, "It is a rude way to talk to me, Rai-kun. I taught you better than that! It's oniisan, thank you." Of course this is all purely in jest as Raiden rolls his eyes subtlety and just sighs.

A look of aghast crosses Arches face,slowly turns to a gental sad smile. "You would realy have me for the e-evening?!" The man slightly choked up a bit. Apparently meaning more to him than bouth men could surmount to realize. " Well seeming how the plane I have taken here is under my hire, I can head back whenever I feel the need. I of course dont want to overstay my welcome, but I do find myself in a point that all of my other proceases are at a close. Every moment here has been a weight lifted, and I feel renewed. So much different compared to the daily suremire I usualy attend. "Besides I for one am irredemeibly excited to see the whole of your family!" Arch seeming almost eminateing with delight.

Forgetting himself and reverting to his native language, Rai's brows furrow in concern, "Daijoubu desu ka?" He lifts a hand hesitantly as if to almost touch Arch's arm but thinks better of it and retracts quickly.

Yasuo, from a distance, is somewhat surprised, approaching closer to them both while taking a drag of his cigarette. He studies Arch with a cock of his head, eyes softening. He, however, does reach out and places a hand on the other man's shoulder and squeezes gently. "...Of course. As long as you think you can put up with us and four children, that is." Offering a friendly wink, he sounds thoughtful. "Just let me get a hold of someone and I can start dinner when we head back. As our guest, Jourdine-san, I'll let you pick what we have!" Turning, the tall doctor gestures for them to head toward home.

Noticing Rais hesitation archs face turnes to one of concerne." If you are put out at all Rai, it does not have to be so my friend. I trust you, and there can always be another time. He reaches over and gently grabs Raidens hand that previously reached to him. " Now ehat was it you said again? Your accent was a tad to thick for me, im sorry."
"Is it the prson watching the little ones? Arch looking over to Yasuo. Yasuo heading over to Arch carresses the mans shoulder and asked his question of which Arches reply: " Ready or not my friend, today is a day of change for me.
